About the Conference

DENVER — Make plans now to attend “High Finance,” SABEW’s 46th annual conference in Denver , April 26-28, 2009.

Conference headquarters will be the Westin Tabor Hotel, where Barack Obama and his family stayed in the Mile High City during the Democratic National Convention. Located along downtown Denver ’s 16th Street pedestrian mall, the Westin Tabor is adjacent to the thriving Lower Downtown (LoDo) nightlife and entertainment district.

We’re lining up top-notch speakers, such as :

  • National experts on the roots of the global financial meltdown.
  • Leaders in our own ranks as we hash out how much the media was/is at fault.
  • Key members of the Obama administration about their remedies, their agenda and their challenges.

Prepare yourself to flourish from the media industry transformation by attending skills sessions on:

  • Multimedia and new technology.
  • Online editing.
  • Packaging.

Have your publication and your stories critiqued by top professionals in the field.

Colorado is at the nexus of the New Energy Economy as wind, solar and biofuel investment flows into the state to compete with its dominant oil and gas industries. Tour the National Renewable Energy Laboratories in Golden, the nation’s preeminent alternative energy R&D agency since 1976. Tour the world’s largest brewery at Coors in Golden.

And, if you’re in town a day early, there’ll be a SABEW Fund for the Future event as the Los Angeles Dodgers battle the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field, a few blocks from our hotel.

New financial regulatory pressures, the housing crisis, tourism and the organic food revolution are among the topics we’ll tackle. Budget the expense and sign up early. You won’t want to miss High Finance this April, highlighted by SABEW’s 2009 Best In Business Awards.
