My days on the board and as president of SABEW (1993) remain a highlight of my 30-plus years in the business. While I made the shift to digital journalism, and later to a corporate job at The Associated Press, my head and my heart have always been with business news.

I learned much from my SABEW experience – most important, how to care about and work on something larger than your own job or career.

The like-minded, impressive bunch of people I had the pleasure of working with in SABEW made it a priority to take up missions on behalf of the specialty, and I want to make a donation to this fund drive in recognition of that continuing spirit.
