The Advocate, a major daily newspaper in Baton Rouge, La., has an opening for a full-time business writer.
Summary of Primary Duties and Responsibilities: The job of business writer requires the ability to do research, conduct interviews and write daily business news on deadline and produce features, people and business profiles and consumer-oriented articles.
Required education, prior work experience and specialized skills and knowledge: Candidate should have a degree in journalism or a related field, with three years of experience with newspapers or other daily publications preferred. Candidate must demonstrate analytical skills. Must write for online and print editions. Must have own vehicle. Submitted clips should reflect some work with in-depth projects, analysis or investigative stories.
Salary is determined by experience.
