7. The San Antonio Express-News seeks an experienced, full-time reporter to cover commercial real estate and some residential real estate on the Business Desk. This is the money behind the physical landscape of our city, and there is much 1A potential for the stories off this high-profile beat. Stories would include new shopping centers, office buildings, multi-use developments etc., but also broader trend pieces as they apply to San Antonio. The reporter also would be expected to write biweekly residential stories for the award-winning Sunday Real Estate section. These stories are more consumer-friendly and focus on educating readers about the San Antonio residential market.
The successful candidate will have strong sourcing skills and be able to break news rather than wait for a news release. This person will be self-directed and able to juggle daily assignments with larger enterprise pieces. Spanish-speaking is a plus.
