To tell compelling business stories on multiple platforms, reporters need a variety ofmultimedia skills.
During SABEW’s annual conference in March, the Donald W. Reynolds National Center for Business Journalism offered the “Become a Multimedia Business Journalist” track to train business reporters in telling video stories, completing successful on-air interviews, producing podcasts and shooting solid business photos.
If you missed the training, you can still learn all the tips and tricks from veterans. Check out the Reynolds Center’s series of self-guided tutorials, which are packed with video lectures and handouts to help you beef up your multimedia skills. The tutorials include:
• Produce a Video Business News Story in a Day: Learn the skills to shoot business news videos.
• How to Look Natural On Air: Get tactics for successful television interviews from an off-camera anchor.
• Produce a Business News Podcast: A step-by-step guide for recording and producing a business news podcast.
