7) Job description: The Washington Post is looking for an energetic web producer who is interested in business and technology. The producer will be responsible for helping to update the Business, Technology and Real Estate web sections with fresh content, producing newsletters and chats, pitching important stories to the homepage and making sure article pages have critical web elements. The producer should have solid news judgment, an interest in business, economic and technology issues, an understanding of the business audience, be good at writing strong headlines and enticing blurbs and have experience at packaging web stories, photo galleries and videos. The ideal candidate will be adept at analyzing traffic data and web trends, understand search engine optimization, be a quick and effective problem solver and be able to quickly learn to use new web publishing tools. The web producer also must be able to communicate and work well with our tech team. The hours generally will be Monday – Friday, 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. but may occasionally involve some weekend work.
