Former SABEW President Bernie Kohn is back in the news business, working for Bloomberg News as team leader for transportation and infrastructure policy in the Washington bureau. And he is looking for reporters (more on that below).

Kohn had been working in media relations at the Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation after being caught in a round of downsizing at the Baltimore Sun, where he had been investigations editor.

In his new post he will be covering policy issues for both Bloomberg News and the company’s new “BGOV” data service.

Kohn says he is thrilled to be back in journalism “even if it will take me the rest of my career to understand the terminal.”

Bloomberg has two openings for reporters in the unit, Kohn said. Anyone who is interested can go to www.bloomberg/com/careers and fill out the application for transportation reporter, or for more information sent e-mail to bkohn2 (at) bloomberg.net.
