As SABEW readies for its 50^th anniversary, we’d like to encourage you to make a charitable donation. We are the world’s largest and oldest association focused on the betterment of business journalism.

The donation is tax deductible.

The money we raise over the next months will support our training and education activities.  We consider it our fund for the future.

We’re appealing to you at a time when our media industry is in flux.  We’re still fighting the effects of a lingering recession and want to best position ourselves as we head into 2013, as we celebrate 50 years of service to business journalism. SABEW president says giving options are convenient.

We have three other options if you choose to make SABEW part of your personal giving.  Just designate if you would like your donation to go to directly to one of these funds.

• Our David Morrow Fund is used for scholarships to our annual conferences, one in the spring, the other in the fall. We will be in New York City for a fall conference Sept. 27-28.  Our spring conference will be in Washington, D.C., April 4-6.

• Our Benita Newton Fund is designated for our efforts in promoting diversity in our activities.

• Our Gary Klott Fund is earmarked for our work in promoting good ethics in business journalism.

The three funds are named after deceased business journalists who were part of the SABEW community.

You can give by visiting the Donate page of our website, which will securely accept your Amex, VISA, MasterCard or Discover credit card information.

Or you can send a check made out to “Society of American Business Editors and Writers” to: SABEW, c/o Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication, Arizona State University, 555 N. Central Ave., Suite 302, Phoenix AZ 85004. Please include a notation for the general fund for the future or for the Morrow, Newton or Klott funds.
