Market Madness: Understanding – and covering — a turbulent stock market

The financial markets have been on a bumpy ride in recent months. Between concerns about the Chinese economy and uncertainty over interest rates, stocks have been dealt blow after blow. This session will give you greater insight into what’s behind the recent market swings and what the outlook is. We’ll also talk, of course, about how best to cover the financial markets and find local angles on major market swings, putting the news in perspective for regional readers and investors.

As managing editor of CNBC.com, Allen oversaw the day-to-day news production and editorial coverage for the network’s website as well as its mobile and digital platforms. Earlier in his career, Allen served as managing editor of CNNfn.com, was an anchor on CNN’s weekend business shows, and held various positions at The Journal of Commerce.
