Business Desk Intern at Chicago Tribune

Posted By David Wilhite

Job Description: The Chicago Tribune’s business desk is seeking a college junior, senior or graduate student for a 12-week paid internship during the summer of 2018. We are not a cookie-cutter business section. We cover the businesses, leaders and issues of the greatest importance and interest to our readers, who consistently tell us through their reading habits that they care most about the companies they have a connection with in their lives, whether they work there or are consumers of their goods and services. The successful candidate will work 40 hours a week on breaking business news and enterprise coverage. To be eligible, candidates must have completed at least one business journalism internship — preferably at a daily news organization — other than their college paper. Additionally, candidates must be able to work in the United States legally.

Job Qualifications: Candidates must have already completed at least one business journalism internship and be eligible to work in the United States legally.

How to Apply: Send your cover letter, resume, work examples and the names of at least two professional references and one school reference to Limit your clips to five to seven pieces that represent your best work and show your range of experience. We prefer that candidates send clips or links to specific stories rather than linking to a personal website.
