Aug. 16 – Application deadline for advanced data workshop

SABEW is seeking 20 business journalists for a first-ever hands-on workshop with FRED data at the St. Louis Federal Reserve on Sept. 19 and 20. You’ll learn how to graph differing types of FRED data, discover new data releases and find data to help you create new stories.

If you use FRED data now, or want to add it to your reporting, this session is for you.

Speakers will discuss how they take the pulse of the American economy, feed that information to the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) and influence interest rate decisions.

Review the schedule and speakers.

Thanks to a grant from the Walter and Karla Goldschmidt Family Foundation, out-of-town participants will a two-night hotel stay in St. Louis. Participants are responsible for their own travel to St. Louis. Most meals are provided.

This workshop is an advanced session funded by the Walter and Karla Goldschmidt Family Foundation, which generously funds the annual SABEW data workshop in Washington, D.C.

Applications are due Friday, August 16 at 5 p.m. EDT. You’ll be notified by August 22. Click here to apply.

It is being produced by Prof. Marty Steffens, SABEW Chair of Business and Financial Reporting at the University of Missouri. Questions? Email Marty.
