Job Description: The Journal Record, a leading source of business and legislative news in Oklahoma, is seeking an experienced journalist with an interest in covering Oklahoma’s energy industry, including the oil and gas and power generation markets. In addition to covering the state’s momentous energy sector, additional responsibilities include covering health care issues and the development and execution of The Journal Record’s digital strategy. As The Journal Record’s digital strategist, you will be expected to manage social media posts, evaluate website analytics and develop tactics and goals for technology-rich projects. This position is critical to The Journal Record’s overall editorial and business strategy. In addition to covering the state’s most important industries, you will play a chief role in defining The Journal Record’s digital future. You will be responsible for optimizing our website to create the best experience for readers. Also, the position will work with reporters to package stories in ways that best serve our audience. As energy reporter, you will be covering all aspects of the energy sector, including pricing, policy, technology and exploration. We’re looking for someone who can cultivate relationships with oil-field workers and C-level executives. We’re also looking for someone who can translate complicated energy issues into simple prose. Job Qualifications: At least three years of experience covering business or politics, superb writer and and eye for detail.
