Energy & Environment Reporter at POLITICO Pro Canada

Posted By David Wilhite on Tuesday July 30, 2019

Job Description: POLITICO Pro is expanding its Canada coverage and we’re looking for a star reporter who is willing to work in a temporary freelance capacity in Canada and knows the energy and environment beat as we launch our coverage in Ottawa. Once our Canadian entity is established, the plan is to convert the freelance positions to regular full-time, benefit eligible reporter slots in Ottawa working for our Canadian affiliate. This isn’t a traditional reporting position – we expect our reporters to break news, lead events, brief subscribers and provide smart, contextual analysis for our high end subscribers. Our style is punchy, direct and quick. The idea candidate is already a known expert in Canadian energy and environmental policy coverage, and should have the beat wired in both the government and business sectors. Stories will include real-time updates for subscribers, newsletter items, longer stories and enterprise features, as well as contributing to stories produced by our global newsroom.
