The application period has passed. The Goldschmidt Fellows will be announced soon.
Are you a business journalist interested in using government data to tell stories? SABEW is offering ten complimentary registrations to SABEW 20, our virtual conference Nov. 17-20. The fellowship is made possible by a grant from the Chicago-based Walter and Karla Goldschmidt Foundation.
We are seeking early-career journalists (working in any medium) who want to learn more about data or more seasoned journalists who have switched to covering the business beat.
SABEW’s Goldschmidt Fellows will attend a special networking session as well as a skill-building session that focuses on using government economic data to track job losses in real-time. Newsmaker sessions include John Williams, President and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and Jared Bernstein, Chief Economist to Former VP Joe Biden.
Those chosen to receive SABEW20 fellowships will get preferential application status to apply for an intense week-long D.C. workshop that focus on government data to be held in 2021. This popular program offers a stipend to cover hotel and travel costs. Timing of the event will be determined later.
SABEW fellows may attend all of the conference sessions complimentary. The program explores the future of the economy, personal finance coverage, the state of the industry, award-winning stories, managing a virtual newsroom, diversity and more.
