Job Overview: Support Editorial Director of B2B publication in planning and executing content for six print issues annually, website, and events. This includes regular assignments from content collection through editorial production process; administrative tasks supporting the mission; and contributing to the long-term goals of the brand. Business Facilities is a full-service media brand specializing in the site selection marketplace, with an audience comprised of corporate site selectors, site selection consultants, and economic developers.
Reports to: Editorial Director, Business Facilities
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Manage multiple advertorial sections for print issue, including collecting and organizing materials in a timely manner. Prepare copy and images for art department, write section introductions, and traffic the content through editorial production process.
- Oversee several regular editorial departments for print issue, including gathering content and handling materials through the production process.
- Support Digital Director to post website content daily, including news releases, contributed articles, and other items.
- Occasionally write feature articles or news briefs for print and for website.
- Proofread submitted materials, including articles handled by Editorial Director.
- Maintain list of industry contacts for editorial team, and update as needed.
- Collaborate and communicate regularly with internal departments, including art/production; sales team; and leadership.
- Travel to industry conferences and other events to represent publication and to seek out news and trends for editorial content, as needed.
Skills/Abilities
- Motivated, self-starter who can multi-task efficiently and accurately
- Excellent written communication skills and knowledge of the English language
- Ability to write and edit content and work with contributors to develop content
- Ability to handle fast paced workflow of digital/print content and adhere to deadlines
- Computer Savvy. Knowledge of Adobe InDesign (MUST); Microsoft Office; WordPress
Equivalent Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree
- At least two (2) years of experience with editorial or related work.
- B2B experience preferred.
Special Considerations:
- Travel up to 4 times per year (attendance at and coverage of major industry events and other functions to develop a presence in the industry and represent publication)
- Ability to work remotely, or in office environment as needed
- Covid-19 vaccinated
Supervisory Responsibility:
- Manage freelance writers, as needed.
