You’ve got mail. Or at least, an emailed newsletter. Newsletters today come in all stripes, from conversational missives to news-driven bulletins. They are an important tool for news organizations interested in both informing and engaging audiences. Dan is executive editor, digital, at Reuters, where he is responsible for news coverage and the strategic direction of consumer online platforms and digital video products. In addition to Reuters.com, other global online platforms and their social media components, he is the founding editor of ReutersTV, a cutting edge video news app launched in 2015. Before joining Reuters in late 2011, he was the U.S. Managing Editor of Bloomberg TV, Managing Editor of CondeNast’s Portfolio.com and Business Editor and Metro Editor of the New York Post.

Jessanne Collins, Quartz
Jessanne is an editor on Quartz’s push team and edits the Quartz Obsession, an interactive daily deep-dive into the most fascinating corners of the global economy. Jessanne is a 10-year veteran of the magazine industry and was most recently editor in chief and director of multimedia at Mental Floss. She has a BA in sociology and political economy from Smith College and an MFA in creative writing from the New School. Her obsessions include quantum physics, Islamic geometry, and deserts.

 

Lindsay Goddard, The New York Times
Lindsay is a product manager on the email team at The New York Times. She helps drive new features and platform development across the email portfolio. Lindsay previously worked on email at Forbes and Oxford University Press. She holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Mexico and a masters degree from New York University.

 

 

Patrick Sanders, U.S. News & World Report
Patrick is the assistant managing editor/investing at U.S. News & World Report in Washington, D.C., where his duties include managing the company’s daily Invested newsletter, which launched last year. He has been an editor for The Associated Press, a daily newspaper in central Indiana and was the founding managing editor for the New York Times editing center in Florida. He has been a member of SABEW since 2016.

 

 

Rachel Van Dongen, Washington Post
Rachel is the editor of PowerPost, a Washington Post vertical focused on all things Washington. She’s also the founding editor of The Daily 202, the Post’s newsletter franchise. Rachel previously worked for Politico, where she served as deputy managing editor and coordinated coverage of some of Washington’s biggest stories.
