Special to SABEW
The Donald W. Reynolds National Center for Business Journalism’s free-training lineup for spring and summer is now available. Highlights include webinars on social media ROI, profile writing, the Affordable Care Act (aka Obamacare), and mergers and acquisitions.
The schedule also features two workshops as part of SABEW’s annual conference in Phoenix March 27-29:
· On March 27, Detecting Corporate Fraud precedes the SABEW Conference and is free to all journalists. The three-hour afternoon workshop will be taught by Theo Francis of The Wall Street Journal and Roddy Boyd of the Southern Investigative Reporting Foundation. Boyd will also teach an abbreviated version of Detecting Corporate Fraud as a session during the conference at 10:30 a.m. on March 29.
· On March 28, as part of paid SABEW Conference registration, Dianne Finch of Elon University will lead a three-hour workshop: Data Visualization: A Hands-On Primer for Business Journalists.
In addition to live training, the center’s BusinessJournalism.org provides free self-guided training, beat basics, SEC-data guides and daily coverage tips off the news.
