For the fifth year in a row, SABEW will conduct its fall conference at the City University of New York Graduate School of Journalism in New York City.  The dates:  Oct. 9-10.

Registration information is available here.

“The SABEW fall conference never fails to make news and is a great place for networking and training,” said SABEW President Marty Wolk, managing editor of MSN Money.

Plans are to conduct an evening program on Thursday. Oct. 9, with a full day of keynotes, panels and skills sessions on Friday, Oct. 10 at the school in midtown Manhattan, 219 W. 40th St.

“We are pleased to welcome SABEW back to the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism,” said Sarah Bartlett, the CUNY dean. “This October’s conference will again bring newsmakers and top business journalists together to dissect the important issues of the day, as well as enrich the learning of our business students.”

The program committee will be chaired by Kevin G. Hall, immediate past president of SABEW and chief economics correspondent of McClatchy Newspapers.

“This conference has increasingly become a ‘mark the calendar’ event, with newsmakers, media discussion and high-level training,” said Hall. “We’re planning another top-notch event.” Hall will be working with Jane Sasseen, executive director of CUNY’s McGraw Center for Business Journalism and Greg David, director of the school’s business and economics reporting program.

SABEW and CUNY have worked together since fall 2010.  Last year, a record 257 journalists participated in the conference, more than twice as many as attended the first seminar in 2010.
