Feb. 9 – The Tipping Point: When will the workplace and economy get back to normal?

SABEW brings together financial and medical experts to discuss the long-term health effects of COVID-19 and how they will impact the economy and workplace.

Mark M. Zandi, chief economist of Moody’s Analytics, will examine the great resignation, the impact of workers being out sick, and the future of remote work. He’ll take your questions on the economic outlook. What are the long-term challenges for businesses and employees in navigating safety vs. staying in business? Newsday economics writer James T. Madore will moderate the discussion.

Dr. Kavita Patel, an NBC News/MSNBC contributor, will discuss how COVID-19 affects workers’ mental health, the role of boosters in keeping people on the job, and how hospitals are coping. The Associated Press medical/science reporter and editor Laura Ungar will moderate the discussion.

SABEW members, please come armed with your questions for economist Mark Zandi and Dr. Patel.

SABEW has received a grant from The Commonwealth Fund to produce training for journalists. The webinar is free as a part of the program offerings.
