Journalists are increasingly sought out by broadcast and streaming channels to share highlights of their coverage with wider audiences. Raise your game and find clarity, confidence and a clear path to make an impact.

In this interactive session, members of the CNBC Editorial team will share tips, and strategies for successfully pitching, preparing and performing on-air.

 

CNBC trainers include:

Mary Duffy is the vice president of strategic talent development and senior executive producer of special projects, CNBC Business News where she focuses on the training and development of on-air and digital talent. She also recruits and manages the CNBC Contributor portfolio of expert guests and is a co-chair of the CNBC Diversity Task Force. Hired for the launch of CNBC in 1989 and rejoined the business news network in 2004, she’s developed and led the strategic editorial partnership for a multiplatform financial wellness initiative, been an integral part of the start- up of CNBC dayside programs, produced network-branded content, and developed multi-part series.

Sharon Epperson, named one of “12 to Watch in TV News,” can be seen regularly on CNBC television and other media platforms. As CNBC’s senior personal finance correspondent, Epperson covers the many facets of how people manage, grow and protect their money. Her expertise includes saving and investing for retirement, paying for college, managing mortgages, student loans, credit cards, and other debt, and building a financial legacy through estate planning. She frequently writes for CNBC.com and also contributes to NBC’s TODAY, NBC Nightly News, NBC News Daily, NBC News Now as well as Today.com and NBCNews.com.

Kevin Flynn is an executive producer at CNBC. He co-created and currently produces Closing Bell: Overtime. Kevin joined CNBC in 2010. He has been instrumental in producing several key events for the network, including CNBC’s 2011 & 2015 Republican Presidential Debates, CNBC’s first Stock Draft, and numerous primetime specials. Kevin is the co-founder of CNBC’s OUT@NBCUniversal chapter. Prior to joining CNBC, Kevin worked on the digital team at NBC News.

Lori Ann LaRocco is senior editor of guests for CNBC business news. She coordinates high profile interviews and special multi-million dollar on-location productions for all shows on the network. Her specialty is in politics, working with titans of industry. Since joining the network in 2000, her track record has garnered the trust and respect from Wall Street rainmakers to Washington. Establishing relationships with some of the best in business, LaRocco’s contacts have told her first of business deals in the billions of dollars, enabling CNBC to break the news first. LaRocco is also a Trade, Maritime and Logistics columnist for “American Shipper” and author to multiple business books.

AJ Vielma is the line producer for CNBC’s “The Exchange” with Kelly Evans. A product of CNBC’s internship program, AJ joined the network via the News Associates program, completing rotations with CNBC Digital, the Breaking News/Assignment Desk, and “Closing Bell.” He helped launch “The Exchange” in January 2019, and now serves as the show’s line producer. AJ also works as a reporter/producer for CNBC en Español, which provides Spanish-language business news and personal finance content for air on Telemundo’s local stations on a regular basis.
