Mark DeCambre

Mark DeCambre is the Editor-in-Chief at MarketWatch, assuming the role in March 2022. He leads MarketWatch’s best-in-class personal finance, markets, and companies coverage. Under his stewardship, the publication has deepened its coverage of issues that have been front of mind for investors, including the cost-of-living crisis, the rise and fall of FTX founded by Sam Bankman-Fried, the collapse of Silicon Valley Bank, and the emergence of AI and weight-loss drugs, and more.

A veteran journalist of more than 20 years, Mark has covered business, finance and markets at leading publications, including The Street, the New York Post, and Quartz, as well as Institutional Investor. He is passionate about distilling financial information and making it accessible to everyone. Under his leadership, MarketWatch has received a number of journalism awards, including a SABEW Best in Business accolade and a number of other news awards and mentions.

Mark is a graduate of St. Lawrence University, where he majored in English and Psychology. He lives in South Orange, N.J. with his wife and two children. He’s a competitive Scrabble player and enjoys solving puzzles.
