SABEW extends its deepest condolences to the IRE community over the death of Diana “Dee Dee” Fuentes, its executive director. The journalism community has lost a pioneer and a beloved colleague.
In announcing her death, IRE quoted a recent statement of support for journalists arrested for protested coverage. “We have a constitutionally protected right — and deep responsibility — to keep the people informed, and we will not stop,” she said.
We can honor her legacy by standing steadfast by that mission.
