The first GOP Primary debate is tonight!

Special to SABEW

The crowded Republican debate tonight marks the official start of another U.S. presidential election. The candidates for the GOP debate were selected based on their ranking in national public opinion polls. SABEW has confirmed  for its fall conference on Oct. 8-9 two top leaders of respected national polling firms.

Maurice “Mickey” Carroll, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll, known for its thorough and exact survey results on elections and public issues, and Lee Miringoff, director of the Marist College Institute for Public Opinion, one of the premier independent survey research centers in the nation, will discuss the polling process and analyze the current U.S. political landscape during a special lunch session avatar.jpg.320x320px-2on Oct. 9. The conference will be held at the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism. It will begin with the McGraw Symposium, a panel discussion with industry leaders sponsored by CUNY’s McGraw Center for Business Journalism, on Thursday evening, Oct. 8, and continue with a daylong program on Oct. 9.
