Dara Khaalid is a senior broadcast journalism student at the University of South Carolina. She is from Rock Hill, South Carolina and from an early age, has loved connecting with people and finding ways to creatively tell their stories. Khaalid particularly loves to tell local stories and aims to highlight the voiceless and marginalized communities. This passion led her to pursue a career as a multimedia reporter. Currently, Khaalid is a digital content producer at WACH Fox 57 where she writes web stories and develops social media content that engages online audiences. She will continue to hone her skills with this position until she graduates in December 2019. Outside of journalism, Khaalid enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling and telling people about Jesus.
