In recognition of Pride Month, the Society for Advancing Business Editing and Writing is committed to supporting and amplifying the voices of LGBTQ+ journalists in the business reporting community. We recognize the unique challenges and barriers they often face, including the concerning trend of book bans and broadly-written laws that can prevent them from sharing their personal experiences when speaking in classroom settings. We are dedicated to creating an inclusive environment where LGBTQ+ journalists can thrive professionally without fear of censorship or marginalization.
We believe diverse voices and experiences strengthen journalism and lead to more comprehensive and insightful coverage of business and economic issues. SABEW encourages greater representation and equity in newsrooms and leadership roles across the industry. We stand in solidarity with our LGBTQ+ members and allies in the continued fight against discrimination, marginalization, and inequality in all its forms, including opposing efforts to silence their stories and lived realities. Together, we can foster a more just, equitable, and inclusive future for business journalism.

With this update coming in 2021, this serves as the most up-to-date LGBTQ+ flag. The flag was created by Valentino Vecchietti of Intersex Equality Rights UK. (Source: The Human Rights Campaign)
