Register for one of SABEW’s upcoming fall events

On Sept. 10, join a webinar that asks, “Is the Federal Reserve behind the curve?” where expert panelists will chat about decisions facing the Fed as it prepares to cut interest rates. Then, join SABEW in New York, on Sept. 26 for SABEW at 60: A Symposium and Reception, with an all-star lineup of speakers, followed by Skill Up, a training session for early-career journalists, on Sept. 27. Fellowship opportunities are also available for an in-person advanced data workshop in St. Louis or a health care symposium in Washington D.C., both in October.

The Federal Reserve is poised to cut interest rates this month for the first time in more than four years. Register for this webinar to hear expert panelists chat about the main questions policymakers are facing as they prepare to cut.

SABEW at 60: A symposium and reception
September 26, 1-6 p.m. ET
Celebrate SABEW’s 60th Anniversary with a gathering of the top business editors and reporters at Dotdash Meredith in New York City. Hear editors discuss the state of the business media industry and the role that new technology is playing, and honor past SABEW presidents at a closing reception.

Skill Up @ SABEW
September 27, 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Register for a skill-building workshop including one-on-one coaching sessions at The Wall Street Journal in New York City. The workshop is geared toward journalism students and early-career reporters but is open to all levels of journalism experience.

FRED Advanced Data Workshop
October 14-15
Apply by Thursday, Sept. 5 to be a Goldschmidt Fellow and attend an in-person advanced data workshop. Journalists will have the opportunity to visit the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis to learn about economic data, discover how to graph differing types of FRED data and learn about new data releases.

SABEW Health Care Symposium
October 20-22
Apply by Friday, Sept. 13 to be a fellow at SABEW’s Health Care Symposium in Washington, D.C. Take a deep dive with experts and veteran reporters into some of the big issues facing U.S. health care, from the growing impact of private equity ownership, to the ways in which blockbuster diabetes and weight-loss drugs are widening health disparities, the crisis of rural health care, and the battles ahead on women’s reproductive health.
