Have a passion for writing about entrepreneurs, how business deals come together, earnings reports and EBITDA? The Daily Memphian is looking for a veteran business reporter to join our team.
Job Qualifications
The perfect candidate would have a strong background in business journalism and be able to break news, develop local sources and write clear, concise stories that cut through industry jargon. Since The Daily Memphian is a daily digital publication, the lead business reporter is expected to file a mixture of shorter and more in-depth stories covering business in Memphis and the Mid-South each week. Applicants should have at least five years of newsroom experience and be willing to relocate to Memphis if they don’t already live in the area. Reliable transportation is necessary. The reporter must also frequently engage with the local business community as well as spend time in the newsroom regularly to interact with editors and other staffers.
