Join Primerli as our Business Podcast Host (Contractor Position)

About Primerli
Primerli is an early-stage, high-growth EdTech startup on a mission to make learning fun. Let’s face it: despite the fact that “content” is more engaging than ever in many spaces, most professional learning content is notoriously boring, slow, and ineffective.

At Primerli, we know how to get people up to speed quickly on complex topics – and how to make it actually enjoyable. We are taking the modern standards of storytelling and production and applying them with a dose of sarcasm to create learning content that professionals actually want to watch. You can check out our sample content on our YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@primerli

Our innovative approach is already proving successful: our clients include many of the world’s most iconic technology and consulting brands. We are now taking it to the next level by launching a new podcast series where we’ll bring in the best minds across industries—turning expert insights into binge-worthy conversations.

The Role
We’re on the hunt for a curious, charismatic, and camera-savvy Business Podcast Host to interview top executives in different industries. The host will own the process end-to-end from ideation and scripting to running the interviews and directing the post-production team. You’ll be the face (and voice) of our SME interviews, hosting and moderating insightful discussions that educate professionals on key industry topics and trends. This role is perfect for someone with a strong on-camera presence, exceptional interview skills, and a background in business journalism.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Hosting & Interviewing: Lead captivating, well-researched discussions with executives across various industries. Bring energy, confidence, and polish to every interview. While we value insightful content, we also know the power of engagement to improve learning outcomes. We’re looking for someone who can ask great questions while keeping the energy high and the conversation natural.
  • Preparing & Researching: Work with our content team to dig deep into guests’ backgrounds and the latest industry trends. You’ll craft thought-provoking questions and supply guests with talking points that will keep the content engaging, relevant, and accessible for our learners.
  • Directing Post-production: Collaborate with our content, production, and design teams to deliver seamless recordings that are high quality and on-brand.

What We’re Looking For

  • Camera Savviness: A confident and engaging presence on video, with prior experience in hosting, interviewing, journalism, or media production.
  • Strong Interviewing Skills: Ability to ask insightful questions, guide conversations, and create compelling narratives while maintaining a casual and conversational style.
  • Industry Awareness: Understanding of business and industry trends, with a curiosity to explore new topics and ask the right questions.
  • Excellent Communication: Exceptional verbal skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas engagingly and professionally.
  • End-to-end Production Experience is a Plus: Bonus points if you have experience supporting post-production of a vodcast and can bring the final edit to the finish line.

The role is :

  • Open to candidates in California
  • A contractor role with the possibility of turning into something full-time
