The Society of American Business Editors and Writers (SABEW) congratulates the winners of its 20th Best in Business competition. The prestigious competition honors excellence in business journalism across all news platforms.
The honored works represent all corners of financial news, from the New York Times breaking news coverage of the Alibaba IPO to the New England Center for Investigative Reporting’s look at the risks of overselling prenatal tests.

Winners were announced at the Best in Business awards ceremony at the conclusion of its spring conference in Chicago, April 25.
The competition was created in 1995 to recognize the best work in business journalism. This year’s contest included entries from 177 companies, institutions and individuals in 70 categories.
